I'm researching, Maria (unk) Frey, the second wife of Benedict Bucher from Cocalico Twp.as found in the record below. I believe Maria and Johannes are the parents of Catherine Frey born 1760 who married Johannes Hage born 1754 +/- also found in the same record. I'm hoping some Bucher researcher might have stumbled across a piece of the puzzle. I need Marie's maiden name. Pensylvania Archives Series 6 Vol VI Chapter: Baptismal and Marriage records Rev. John Waldscmidt, Cocalico, Moden Krick, WeisseichenLand and Seltenreich. Gemeinde. lancaster Co., PA 1752-1786 pg 224. Bucher_Benedictus or Benedict - or Benns Bucher second marriage to Maria, widow of Johannes Frey married 8 Sep 1778. Benedict was first married to Anna Hershey. Hag_ Johannes, son of decd. Conrad Hag, and Catharina Frey daughter of decd. Johannes Frey on Aug 7, 1781 in Cocalico Twp. Lancaster Co., PA . Benedict Bucher's will of 1787 also leaves widow Mary £200 minus the £60 bond of John Heck. This is the same year that Johannes Hage purchased land in Chanceford Twp, York Co. I have been have difficulty in pin pointing which Johannes Frey was the father of Catherine as well a locating a maiden name for Marie, her mother. ------------------------------------------- Also, there are several possibilities where Johannes Hage's father is concerned. I've been circling the drain on this for years. Just thought I'd through it out there again. A Conrad (Au)Hage age 40 arrived in 1753 along with a Christopher Auhage. Conrad wrote his name as Hage in the Oath of Allegiance signed in Philadelphia. Its possible that Christopher was later written as Christian Hage. As a Christian Hage is also found in the Moden Creek records. There are several other Haak, Hawk, Hage, Hege and Frey marriages in the same localitities and time frame. George Hege married Eva Frey, Balthasar Hege married Julianna, John Hege married Mary Frey. Also aligning with Roth, Rupp and Volk or Walk families. Then again in 1777 a Johannes Hage arrived in Phila. So its possible his father Conrad never touched US soil.
