You need to have a deed book & page number like A3 p. 156, which is why I sent you to the Grantor indexes. [The courthouse does have all the index books digitized, but they have not allowed access to them from outside of their computers. So for now, we must use what's available. Often you can find a previous deed number in the one you are looking at, so you can sometimes look up an earlier deed that way.] http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~paslchs/IndexImages.html http://www.lancasterdeeds.com/lanco_rod/cwp/view.asp?a=662&Q=582879&lanco_rodNav=| 1. Open the E-Film Reader. 2. At the top right of the page you will see a box "Land Records". Click on the little box to the right. This will give you a drop-down menu with all the deed books. The oldest ones are letter names & are found at the top & bottom of the list choose one & hit enter or return. 3.On the left "Image Layout" choose 1x1 for easier viewing. 4. Above the image, to the right, enter the page number you want. THIS RARELY TAKES YOU TO THE PAGE YOU NEED. Figure out the difference between the page that shows up and the one you need and add or subtract accordingly. In this case I wanted page 156, but 149 showed up. I add 7 to 156, which is 163 & enter that. This is a great resource! Most PA courthouse, if they have digitized their records, make you pay a third party to get copies of the documents and do not allow free access. Occasionally the website is down & if you leave it for too long, you need to re-open the E-Film Reader.
