    1. [PALANCAS] Bainbridge Township
    2. Lancaster Listers, I was able to find my ggg-grandparents in the 1850 census of Bainbridge, Lancaster, PA. They were John and Siloame Barnes (indexed as Beams at?Ancestry).?There are no census images of Bainbridge for the 1860 and 1870 census at Ancestry.com. Was there a Bainbridge Twp in 1860 and 1870?? Was the township enumerated in 1860 and 1870? If there was a 1860 and 1870 enumeration of Bainbridge, where can I find an index or images of these censuses?? The 1880 census at Ancestry includes Bainbridge Twp. John Barnes (b. 1826 PA) and Siloame Isaac?(b. 1831 PA) were the parents of Isaac Henry Barnes (b. 1850 Lancaster Co., PA)? Isaac Henry Barnes was in Macon Co., IL in the 1870 census (indexed as Isaac H. Burns).?I have been unable to find this family in the 1860 census.? I am wondering if they were still in Bainbridge in 1860 but there are no images for this township at Ancestry for 1860 to check. Thanks - Pam Hawley

    3. Hi Pam,      Bainbridge isn't a Twp. its a village or town in Conoy Twp.  Conoy was formed from Donegal Twp. in 1842 so you should be able to find Canoy from 1850 onward.  Bainbridge may have appeared on the census because it was the post office for most of Conoy Twp.                                                                                                                              Jim Conestoga Area Historical Society http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pacahs/index.htm ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, March 28, 2009 12:35:55 AM Subject: [PALANCAS] Bainbridge Township Lancaster Listers, I was able to find my ggg-grandparents in the 1850 census of Bainbridge, Lancaster, PA.
