    3. Hi Karl! Fancy meeting you here :D. I checked the LCHS and they have the Almanacs, don't they have the company's address on them? Here's the info in case you don't already have it-- Almanac Collection: 1775- PDF Print E-mail Call number: MG-92 12 boxes 5.5 cubic ft Repository: Lancaster County Historical Society (Pa.) Shelving Location: Archives North, Side 23 Baer's is in boxes 4 through 9. Unfortunately old directories often don't list the street address, only the street. Two other ways to find exact addresses for businesses are newspaper ads of the period you're researching and tax rolls (that's how I found the location of a drug store in Marietta I was hunting for circa 1870.) If you already know the building but want to know what was on that site prior to that, land record grantor/grantee records would tell you who one business bought the building from. Assuming that the business actually owned the building rather than renting it. There are also what are called insurance maps that show the owners of all property; again, not renters. (That's how I found your Pastor's house in 1888, and once I had the parcel number on the drugstore off the tax roll the map showed me its exact location. Hope this helps! Thinking gnaws away at everything so relentlessly, until it finally breaks a tooth on one truth or another. ~Joe Bageant, "The Audacity of Depression"
