Felix LANDIS in his 1737 will [he died 1739] excluded his son in law Abraham MYERS from having control of his wife Fronica's (Felix's youngest daughter's) inheritance. Well, court evidence about Abraham MYERS explains it -- he was evidently dishonest, and there was later trouble between him and Felix Jr., too. Taken from a summary of actions of the Lancaster PA Quarter Sessions court edited by Gary Hawbaker: Quarter Sessions court of Lancaster County PA held on 1 May 1733 shows Abraham MIERS and Jacob BARR give guarantees for the appearance of Abraham MIERS. [etc. -- no details in the abstract] Quarter Session court held 1 Feb 1736/37 shows Martin GRAFF appearing and prosecuting Abram MIERS for stealing a horse. [etc.] Those appearing in court to give evidence against MIERS were Jacob STONER, Hans GRAFF, Peter GRAFF, and Benja. ASLEMAN. [etc.] Abraham MIERS appears in his father-in-law Felix LANDIS’s will written 29 Apr 1737, MIERS being paid off with 5 shillings to end all claim he might make on LANDIS’s property. Quarter Sessions court of Lancaster County on 4 Aug 1741 has a note that Henry MOSSELMAN [judge?] decreed that “Abraham MIER shall be of good behavior to ffelix LANDUS [Jr.] and appear at ye next Court.” [etc.] Tie-ins: Fronica was a sister of Barbara LANDIS who married John 'the Mennonite' BINKLEY and of Anna LANDIS who m.
