    3. Keith, Glad to be of help. I've watched over the years as people stay in one area and neglect to move across the map a ways to see what was up. When I fisrt started out I did the same thing but was told real quick that you need to rove around outside the area you think your people are. So when I saw all that about the time and place they were looking I thought I would jump in and make that suggestion. Thanks again for getting back with me. Tim *** ----- Original Message ----- Subject: Re: [PALANCAS] Lancaster out of Chester County info Tim, Wanted you to know the PA-OLD-CHESTER list was one I would have never found - and I have already gotten several clues from it! I would suggest it is a good source for all researching in Lancaster County - especially for earlier history! THANKS!!! Keith Tim Robinson wrote: Mag, You should know that in 1682 William Penn settled out the 1st 3 counties in Pennsylvania, Bucks, Chester & Philadelphia. It was 1729 before Lancaster was taken out of Chester County. So when searching for records in the area you have to include Chester when dealing with Lancaster. Another good thing would be to join the Pa-OldChester mail list for more information, if you have not done so already. Tim R.
