Anyone researching this family from Stumptown which includes Jacob, his son Samuel (who died relatively young), and Samuel's son Abraham L. who was briefly in an orphanage after his father's death until his mother remarried? They lived on land once owned by David Landis, came there between 1864 and 1875. Buried I believe in Landis Mennonite Cemetery? Specifically wondering if there was Native American blood in the line, and where they lived prior to coming to the Stumptown area. There are lots of Landises and Rudys in Manheim Township too. Also wondering if anyone knows of a genealogist with special expertise in Native American roots in Lancaster County. Thanks! Chris Knowledge is power, and while the truth may be spurious and slippery and messy and deep, the pursuit of it is just about the only thing we have left. Give that up, and all that's left is spiritual numbness, emotional stasis and death. ~Mark Morford, San Francisco Chronicle
