I am looking for the parents of Peter Dillow, Sr. that lived in in Berkeley and Jefferson Counties in Virginia (now West Virginia.) Jefferson County was formed from Berkeley Co., Va. We match in DNA testing with the Pierre Dulon family from France. And then there is Nicholas Delong that came to America to PA about 14 years later. I still don't know how they are related or who Peter Dillow's father is. They have the same given names of Peter, William, Thomas, John and Charles, etc and were only about 30 miles from each other from Pa to Harpers Ferry, Va. I am still looking for records. Several years ago I made a trip to the State Library in Charleston, West Virginia. I found the following: " 18 Nov 1851 Tuesday: " Died on last Sat week, near Keyes Ferry on the Blue Ridge in Jefferson County, Peter Dillow, aged about 100 years. He was a citizen of this county for 73 years." Peter Dillow, SR. was born 1757 and according to the 1850 Jefferson Co., Va census he was born in Virginia. He was about 94 years old when he died. He had leased 75 acres from Lord Fairfax in 1786 on Mountain Mission in Norbourne Parish called Shannondale near Keyes Ferry. This is only about 30 miles from the Pierre Dulon family who came to PA on the Ship Augusta in 1736. Pierre's family went by various spellings including Dillow. Would either Pierre or Nicholas sons have come to Virginia around the 1750 time period if you know. Any information would greatly be appreciated. Marianne Dillow Illinois
