    1. Re: [PALANCAS] George MENNER in Cocalico area
    2. I have a few tax records from that time frame that include a George Meener, but, it appears that it morphed from Mainzer/Meintzer or at least had the opportunity to be confused with the other surname -- Cocalico Twp, Lancaster Co, PA Tax records 1751-1808 (FHL 1,449,272) 1757 County Tax Geh Minzer 0.0.8 1758 George Mannezer 0.4.0 Housekeeper Mainzer, George H. 100ac poor land, 25ac cleared, 8 winter grain, 1 horse, 1 mare, 2 sheep, 4 cows 1759 George Minteer 14 [number crossed over] George Meneer 16 [number crossed over] County Tax George Minteer 1.4 George Meneer 1.8 Freeholders George Mincer 50ac unpatented land, 25 cleared, 7 winter grain, 2 horses&mares, 2 cows 1763 George Meintzer 0.8.0 > [Original Message] > Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2011 20:03:26 -0400 > From: A Miner provesration@gmail.com > Subject: [PALANCAS] Church records of the 18th century Lancaster County PA Lookup > To: PALANCAS@rootsweb.com > > I was wondering if anyone has this book and if they could please > look for a > Gorg/George Manner/Menner particularly in the records for Muddy Creek, > Cocalico Reformed, Seltenreich, Swamp Reformed, or White Oaks. 1. [PALANCAS] lookups - William Dean/Dane
    2. Larry Dean
    3. This might be a good time to say who I am looking for in Lancaster Co. I'm looking for any information, particularly marriage or baptism records, involving a William Dean/Dane who was born near Philadelphia, PA about 1758. According to family tradition, William married Sarah McDonald sometime about 1785. I would love to find a record of that marriage. They had children beginning with George Dean, born 1786 in Pennsylvania (don't know where in PA). I think the Caleb Dean/Dane who shows in records of Earl and Cocalico Townships, Lancaster Co., PA from 1790 until his death in 1819 was my William's brother. Caleb married Maria Marlin Feb 16, 1785 according to the records of Rev. John Waldschmidt, minister of the German Reformed church in southeastern Pennsylvania (source: Pennsylvania Archives). According to that record, Caleb's father was Nehemiah/Nehimiah Dean/Dane. I have found records of Nehemiah in York County, PA until he sold his land in Warrington Township in August 1784. I have tried hard, but can't find him in the 1790 census when he would have been 61 years of age. Since his son was in Lancaster County in 1790, I think there is a possibility that Nehemiah was there then too. Again, what I desperately need is a record which establishes the relationship between my William Dean/Dane and Nehemiah Dean/Dane. It is quite possible that such a record exists in a marriage or baptism record in Lancaster Co., PA sometime about 1780-1820. Thank you for your attention. I will appreciate any lookups anyone can do. Larry Dean Vancouver, WA, USA http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ladeanxx/index.html

    3. Thanks, Vicki, I have seen all tax records for Lancaster. Those are two separate people; George Mentzer became George Menner's father-in-law in 1764 according to Rev. Waldschmidt's records. What I was hoping to find was any other religious records of George Menner besides Rev. Waldschmidt's records that show George as a congregant somewhere and possibly his children's baptismal records for approximate dates of birth.
