    1. [PALANCAS] Rachel Matilda Cherry Kercher
    2. I am looking for Rachel Matilda (Tillie) Cherry Kercher's place (and time) of death. She was born 12-18-1848 Wayne County, OH. Possible death year 1943, in Leona, Doniphan County, KS or Philadelphia, PA. Parents: Moses and Elizabeth (Nichols) Cherry of Wayne County, OH. Husband: David Kercher 1843 (Lancaster County, PA) -1919 (Philadelphia, PA). Son: Delano Ernest Kercher 1869 - 1938 (Philadelphia, PA). Delano was a doctor in Philly. David and Rachel homesteaded in North East Kansas in area that became Leona, Doniphan County, KS. David gave part of his land for the town site so railroad could have a station. David also was first postmaster. On a trip to Leona, we found an area of homes, no stores, etc. were there. The old grain store was beside the railroad. Old school house, not even a church. The only cemetery was just north of Leona. No Kercher's or Cherry's are buried there. When David retired he went to Philly to his son's residence. He and David are buried there in Philly, but no clue of cemetery at this time or if Rachel died there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
