I am looking for marriages/deaths or any news items of some of my LANDIS who lived in Caernarvon, East Earl area, and Blue Bell. David LANDIS (c1790-1800) m Catharine ?unk? b.1800. She died 3/30/1853 in Caernarvon, but I don't have her maiden name. Buried at Bangor Episc. church, but I also could not find her grave there. He died mid 1830s.....was dec'd when his father's, (Henry LANDIS) estate probated in 4/1836. they would have married c1820s..... Would there be anything for his father Henry LANDIS? His wife was Maria HIGH. She died 1831. I know they are buried at Zimmerman/Lichty cemetery as I found them and posted photos on the Lanc Co genweb archive board. A half-brother of Henry, Jacob LANDIS, lived in Lanc Co also. 'He joined farms with Gen Winfield Scott in Landisville. In abt 1837 he deeded his land to his brother Abraham and left for the West.' His wife was Catharine GARBER. He had 8 children and all born in Lanc Co. - Mary, Abraham, Frederick, Hannah, Anna, Catharine, Jacob and Barbara bet 1810-1823. Most of them died in Ohio. Would there be anything about Jacob LANDIS leaving the area? (This was in one of the Landis Reunion reports - the 33rd.) Would there be any news items early enough to cover late 1830s for any of these LANDISes? Thank you so much for volunteering lookups from your 2 books. Diana in Pelham AL [email protected]
