He was b. 1746 and m. Susanna Klein, daughter of Jacob Klein in 1796. I have records showing their children Johan Jacob b. 1775 and married Catherine, David b. 1776 (my direct ancestor) and Elizabeth b. 1778 all b. in Frederick, Frederick Co. MD. Then I have them on to Cumberland and then Oakland. I can prove all of these. I just can't find the connection before 1775 when Johan Jacob was born. I was always told they came from Germany. They said my grandfather came from Germany but it wasn't him, I don't think. It had to be my g.g.g.grandfather. Harriet HOFFMAN Toothman
