Hi Marilyn, The only mention of a Jane Hamilton is - >From Lancaster Union - Jun 2, 1835 - In this city, on Sun 17th ult, Miss Jane HAMILTON, late of Maytown, in this co, aged 92 yrs. >From Lancaster Union - Nov 1, 1836 - Married Mon last by Rev Davy, James FERGUSON, of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio, to Mrs. Jane HAMILTON of Lampeter twp, Lanc co. There are a number of Hamiltons in the Will book and Intestate records, let me know if you would like them....maybe one of them could be her parents. Sorry, nothing for the name Rench. Thanks ever so much for helping all of us. I have three families that I'll include in three separate emails. The first is Rench/Hamilton. Here's the family to give you some background. Two questions follow: Thomas Henry RENCH b. 7 Mar 1790 in Washington County, Maryland d. 31 Oct 1849 in Franklin County, Indiana m. 1 Oct 1820 Washington County, Maryland to- Jane Hamilton b. 26 Jun 1799 in Pennsylvania d. 11 Dec 1865 in Franklin County, Maryland son, John Henry/H. John RENCH b. 4 Oct 1823 in "Lanchester"/Lancaster County/near Harrisburg County d. 18 Apr 1907 in Calhoun County, Iowa 1. Do you find anything on Jane HAMILTON, who was born in Pennsylvania? Based on the rest of the information, it seems possible she was from Lancaster County PA. 2. Do you find anything on John Henry RENCH, b. 1823? (The birthplace confusion is "received" information.) Thank you, Marilyn
Thanks so much, Janie! I have nothing further on Jane HAMILTON other than her marriage to RENCH. Their son, John Henry RENCH, was born in Pennsylvania, but after that they went to Indiana. (I made a mistake in my original post. Jane HAMILTON Rench died in Franklin County, Indiana, not Maryland.) Thanks for checking.
