The current issue of the journal of Lancaster County Historical Society, now "Lancaster History," includes a tantalizing article that involves one Bernard Hubley (d. 1803), a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. I am involved in research in the history of Grace Lutheran Church, a daughter congregation of Trinity, which began as a branch Sunday School in 1855 on the first block of West James Street, Lancaster, moved to several other locations, and ended up on East James. The first and temporary superintendent was one John W. Hubley, a Trinity Lutheran member, who also became a member of the first congregation council when the congregation was founded in 1874. He died 19 Sept 1888. Interestingly, he was a drummer by avocation. Can anyone help me draw a fairly direct line either from the above-mentioned Bernard Hubley to this John W. Hubley OR show any relationship of said John W. Hubley to the Hubley toy company? Many thanks. Karl E. Moyer Lancaster PA
