His relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral from his late residence on the Harrisburg Turnpike, on Friday morning at 10 o'clock, without further notice. [An obituary for Mr. McEVOY also appears on this page but is not transcribed here]. GATCHELL.-On Dec. 28[?]th, Mary Eva [GATCHELL], daughter of Dr. J. C. GATCHELL, aged 10 months and 24 days. ZECHER.-On the 27th inst.[sic], in this city, Ann Elizabeth [ZERCHER], wife of Philip ZERCHER, in the 36th year of her age. ---------- [Elsewhere on the same page] FATAL ACCIDENT.-[Abstract]- Jordan CRIMMEL, of Thompsontown, Juniata county, age 27, was killed last night in a railroad accident in the Lancaster train yard. BODY IDENTIFIED.-[Abstract]- On Friday afternoon, the body of Mr. Adam WARFEL, who drowned at Safe Harbor on Oct. 24th, was recovered at the Horse Shoe Bend, in the Susquehanna River, above Peach Bottom. The body was taken to Safe Harbor and interred in the Eshleman Family Graveyard. SUDDEN DEATH.-Mr. Michael SHANK, of West Donegal twp., who was some time since seriously cut with a knife while butchering, died suddenly on Friday evening, about 9 o'clock. He had been better for the last three or four days, and his family entertained strong hopes of his recovery. On Friday evening he was at the barn helping to feed the cattle, he then went to the house and partook of supper and ate hearty. They all retired about 8 o'clock, his wife had slept but a short time when she was awakened by hearing a strange noise coming from him. She called him and received no answer, she then arose and hastily lit a lamp but by the time she reached the bed with the light he was dead. He leaves a large family and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. He died from a paralytic stroke, which reached his heart. He was a member of the Mennonite Church for many years and was over 72 years of age. ---------- The Lancaster Intelligencer: Wed. 9 Feb. 1870: Page 3: Deaths LEONARD.-On the 7th inst., in this city, George LEONARD, aged 48[?] years and 29 days. His relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from his late residence, South Duke street, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, without further notice. COSGROVE.-On the 8th inst., in this city, Bernard COSGROVE, aged 41 years, 1 month and 17 days. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from his late residence in Chestnut street, near Penn'a R. R. Depot, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. TROUT.-On the 6th inst., Adam TROUT, aged 49 years and 7 months. McTAGUE.-On the 4th inst., in Columbia, Edward [McTAGUE], son of J. J. and Annie T. McTAGUE, aged 5 months and 16 days. EBERMAN.-On the 1st inst., in this city, Mrs. Annie EBERMAN, in the 26th year of her age. BECKER.-At her residence, in Lancaster twp., near Millersville, Elizabeth BECKER, aged 78 years and 10 months. COOPER.-In Leacock township, January 21st, 1870, Jacob W. COOPER, eldest son of Caleb and Harriet COOPER, aged 13 years, 5 days. [A poem follows, but is not transcribed here.] ---------- [Elsewhere on the same page] OBITUARY.-Adam TROUT, a well-known citizen, died at the County Asylum on Sunday morning at 5 o'clock. Mr. TROUT was proprietor of the Western Hotel, this city, for about fifteen years. He was several times elected to Councils, was an active politician, and otherwise took a prominent part in public affairs. Some two years ago his mind became impaired, and he was placed in the Harrisburg Asylum, where he soon recovered sufficiently to be brought home, but having a relapse soon afterwards he was placed in the Lancaster County Asylum, where he has since remained. A few weeks ago his health began to give way, and he sunk gradually until Sunday morning, when he died. A short time before his death his reason was entirely restored. He will be interred, in accordance with his request, in the family burying ground at Paradise, on Wednesday morning. A FORMER LANCASTERIAN DEAD.-We learn that H. A. HAMBRIGHT formerly a resident of Lancaster and the brother of our friend Captain A. F. HAMBRIGHT, died on Sunday last at New Orleans wither he had gone for the benefit of his health; of the immediate cause of his death we are not informed. Mr. H. was 59 years old; he left Lancaster 30 years ago for St. Louis, where he has since been successful in business. He frequently visited Lancaster where he has many friends who will regret to hear of his death. ARNELL.-On the 13th inst., in this city, Alice M. [ARNELL], daughter of Thomas and Mary ARNELL, aged 5 years, 3 weeks and 3 days. BEACHEY.-On the 10th inst., George BEACHEY, aged 73 years, 3 months and 17 days. COYLE.-On the 9th inst., in this city, Maria [COYLE], wife of Dennis COYLE, in the [??]th year of her age. VOIGT.-On the 7th inst., in Hudson county, New Jersey, Helen V.
