Shirley, I think your Christina Brenner is the daughter of Philip Brenner and Catherine Nestelroth of Lancaster Co. The following is a series of documents which supports this: 1) Orphans Court, 25 Feb 1835. R. Frazer, atty for Rudolph Wisler, guardian of Christiana Brenner, minor dau of Philip Brenner, asks for citation to John Miller, surviving exec of Israel Nestelrode, who was guardian of Christiana. 2) Orphans Court, 16 Mar 1835. Court orders John Miller, surviving exec of Israel Nestelrode, former guardian of Christiana Brenner, to show cause why attachment should not be issued against him. 3) Lancaster Journal, 5 Jun 1835. There is a newspaper entry regarding the above court records, which also says there is another orphan named Philip. 4) Orphans Court, 20 Apr 1835. Attachment awarded agst John Miller, surviving exec of Israel Nestelrode, former guardian of Christiana Brenner. 5) Orphans Court, 15 Jun 1835. John Miller, exec of Israel Nestelrode of Manor Twp decd, who was guardian of Christiana and Philip Brenner, minor children of Philip Brenner, shows $525.76 1/2 in the account. (Note: A major responsibility of the Orphans Court is to protect the financial interests of children. Israel Nestelrode was the original guardian and, since he was now deceased, the court was trying to ensure John Miller, Israel's executor, could account for the money due the orphans. 6) OC, 2 Nov 1835. Another entry re: the account. 7) OC, 19 Nov 1839. Christiana Brenner requests Abraham Brenneman as guardian to replace Rudolph Wisler. (Note: A child could pick his/her own guardian once he/she turned 14.) 8) Deed Book S7: 174-178 (these are available online). These are three deeds/agreements, all dated 12 Sep 1850. They are a bit hard to understand, but land is being sold by Thomas and Elizabeth Steers to Benjamin Wishler. In the last one they are selling a lot "subject and liable to the payment of the yearly interest of --- on the principle sum of --- the dower or thirds of Catharine Hudson late Catharine Brenner, widow of Philip Brenner late of Manor Township..." This Philip Brenner (who was born in 1787) probably died earlier than Feb 1835. I don't have the documents, but there was a Philip Brenner who died intestate in 1826. There are few more OC records for a Philip Brenner between 1826 and 1835. I just haven't looked at them. Two of them (1825-1828: 300 and 1831-1833: 455) are regarding the appointment of guardians. Perhaps the first is the appointment of Israel Nestelrode and the second is the replacement appointment of Rudolph Wisler. Philip's brother was the Emanuel Brenner whose lot in Safe Harbor was sold to Thomas Steers in 1845 (Deed C7: 414). There is also a deed from Israel Nesterod (sic) and wife to Philip Brenner dtd 6 Aug 1813 (Deed B7: 90). This is soon after Philip Brenner married Catherine Nestelroth on 13 Sep 1812 (Trinity Lutheran Church Records). Further research will probably show that Israel N. is Catherine's father. There are only a few mentions of child/orphan Philip, so he may have died before reaching adulthood. If you haven't done so, you might want to see if you can find Christina's birth in the Trinity Lutheran church records. The published records only go up through 1810. The Lancaster Co Historical Society has a photocopy of the originals. I would also look for a will or probate for Catharine Hudson. If she left an estate, some or all of it would go to her grandsons, Isaac and Thomas Steers.
