I am not sure this list is the place for such a discussion and I wouldn't want to begin an off-topic debate with you on the list, but you have made public accusations about Ancestry that are simply not true and that needs to be corrected. Ancestry doesn't "take" your data--if you post a family tree or have a website at RootsWeb--that web site and data belong to you and you can delete, edit, and add to it any time you like. You own and control your data. If your information is public domain info then it doesn't belong to you or anyone else. Facts can't be owned by anyone. If you would care to explain to me privately what information you THINK Ancestry has taken of yours and what you "can't get at"--I'd be happy to set you straight and explain what is really going on and help you get at it.
