Intestate means they died without a will but there could be something in the Orphan's Court records. Dietrich George 1820 Dietrich Henry Jr. 1823 Dietrich Henry 1827 Dietrich Henry 1843 Dietrich Lorens 1815 Dietrich Philip 1816 Dietrich Philip 1827 Dietrich Philip 1836 Dietrich Tobias 1834 Jim Hi, Jim- While we are on the subject of the surname DIETERICH (of various spellings) I wonder if any records at your disposal give any hints as to the parents of my great-great-grandmother, Catherine DIETERICH. The only clue I have that Catherine was from Lancaster County is my great-grandfather James H. SMITH's death certificate from 1920 in which it says his mother is "Catherine DIETERICH born Lancaster County." This Catherine DIETERICH married Samuel SMITH of York County and their son James Henry SMITH was baptized at York Moravian Church in 1858. I'm not sure the family actually had any strong ties to the Moravian Church but that is where James was baptized. My Catherine (DIETERICH) SMITH was listed as being age 30 on the 1860 census thus making her birth year somewhere around 1830. Any ideas? Joan
