    3. I googled New Amithi with no success. I also checked "The Pennsylvania Line" research guide, again with no success. There is, of course, no Bend County in Pennylvania. The only logical possibility is Berks County. Of course, there was no Berks County in 1738; but the record may have been inscribed in the bible after 1752 when Berks was erected. Amithi brings to mind Amity, a township in southeastern Berks County ("th", in German, is pronounced "t"; the "i" like "y"). Old Gothic German script was hard to read; and letters were often mistaken for others; so Berks could have, possibly, been mistaken for Bend. Amity is one of the oldest townships in Pennsylvania, having, originally, been part of Philadelphia County. However, I digress; http://www.co.berks.pa.us/amity/cwp/view.asp?a=1712&Q=467281&amityPNavCtr=%7C , a history of Amity Township, makes no mention of a "New Amithi" or "New Amity".
