    3. Hello Kerm and Fellow Listers: I'm afraid to say that you're not going to find an actual Death Certificates during this time. Death Records in most counties in Pennsylvania were kept from 1852-1855 and then again from 1893-1906. For the years between these times, you will have to find either church records or bible records... or if you're lucky enough to have a person who was prominent in the society - to find a death notice or obituary in the newspaper. Large wordy obituaries did not come into being until the early 1900's - except in the case of a very prominent person or one who was involved in politics ... or a soldier of one of the major wars.
