Richard Richard- The most current approved ancestors from the DAR Patriot Index is online but is only accessible to the VIS lookup volunteers with a password who will retrieve that info for posters to the DAR message board. There are places online that have outdated records--but only the lookup vols. will know the current listings. That is the reason I recommended a lookup be requested. You are correct that many applicants trying to use old applications from the days when less proof was needed for approval are not successful as many ancestors have been removed from the lineage books over the years unless or until someone can actually provide sufficient proof of service.
