Darlene. Your E-mail is encouraging to say the least, and I thank you. This research has been going on for a number of generation,S with no answer,S. Even if your suggestion,s do not "pain out" I am happy to note that some one, namely YOU is showing an interest in assisting THE cause. No, I have not been to the Miffintown (Hist. Soc.) : one reason I always figured Noah THE Researcher in than part of the state (and of course of the Acker/Landis family) would have "milked it dry". Of course, Noah like we, was human also. I (and other,s) have visited the MOntg.. Co. Hist. Soc. a number of times and Bucks Co. including the Montg. Co Courthouse.\ As you may know, being of the Mennonite faith, their children were not as infants, baptized, hence very few Church record,s are found. My mother's Martha Elizabeth Landis Weinhold , father was born in the S.W. corner )really just out side on the left, a small farm) of Thompsontown, back in the latter part of the 1800,s and after he and his brother,s move back to Lancaster, William Landis and his wife Catherine Aucker also moved back to Lanc. co., PA. In year,s past The Jun. Co. Landis family has had their family reunion in the East Salem area. What is so strange is that MY Landis ancestor,s seemingly have no "connection" with the Landis/es' of Montg. or Bucks Counties nor of course with the ones who settled in Lancaster county, PA. I have a much younger person (a Landis m'd. to a Landis) assisting me and I just may share what you have shared with me. We will work on it. The Juniata (Mennonite)District Historical Society is not only an interesting place for research but has LOT,s if information for researcher,s, near Richfield. Who knows, maybe your suggestion may lead to a answer we are seeking. Again, thank you Darlene D. Ernest weinhold DEWeinhold@juno.com Manheim. PA
