Do you address resources that are local ones that would not be readily available elsewhere? I know that my grandfather's family settled in New Buffalo area after coming from Ireland. Several were doctors. We have the deed to one of their properties- would the speaker talk bout local resources? We would be coming from Chambersburg, and want to know if it would be helpful?? Thank you, Pat Glasgow P.S. the surnames would be McMorris, Pines, Drummond, Wright, Smith, and Leedy -----Original Message----- From: Donna Heller Zinn [mailto:djzinn@pa.net] Sent: Monday, February 20, 2006 12:05 PM To: PALANCAS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PALANCAS] Perry Historians Annual Genealogical Workshop Good Afternoon Folks: Just wanted to let you all know that the Perry Historians [aka Harry Lenig Library] a genealogical library located just outside of New Bloomfield, Centre Twp., Perry Co., PA. on Rt.34, will be holding their annual Genealogical Workshop on Saturday, March 11, 2006 in the library from 9:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m. Once again Harry Focht, master genealogist will be speaking on the various records and documents one encounters when researching our ancestry.... and some not so well known records that may prove useful. There may be free time to do research in our facility after the program. Volunteers will be there to assist you - if you've never been to our library before. This is a FREE service that is offered annually by the Perry Historians. Should you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at djzinn@pa.net Hope to see you there! Hello Pat and Fellow Listers: Harry Focht will be addressing documents and resources that can be found locally ... and also in other areas. So those attending can take what they have learned and use it elsewhere in their searches. As for the surnames that you listed..... yes, SMITH and WRIGHT are definitely Perry Co. surnames. In fact we have a completely full filing cabinet drawer full of surname resources on the surname SMITH. I do hope you decide to come out to the workshop. I have been attending every year for 13 years and each year I come away with something new!
