    3. I show one sister of Barbara Witmer, Anna 'Nancy' Witmer b. July 16, 1789 d. Dec. 10, 1869 married, in 1809, to Christian Shaub (1783-1837) and then brother, Jacob Witmer (Sept. 7, 1791 d. June 21, 1864) married Sarah Lafever in 1817. Barbara, Anna and Jacob are children of John Witmer (1754-1828) and Esther Bowman (1769-1828). Doesn't look like the same family....sorry. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bobbie Welty" <blwelty@comcast.net> To: <PALANCAS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 17, 2006 2:39 PM Subject: Re: [PALANCAS] BARGE researcher > Would you have any idea about sisters of Barbara Witmer? 3. There was a Catharine Witmer b. 1778-1792, prob. Manor or Donegal Twp. Her father was John Witmer (b. 1758, d. bef 1792). John Witmer was son of Peter Witmer and Catharine Engel of Manor Twp. I have not traced what happend to John's children, but the date of birth fits. Peter Witmer was involved in the founding of the "River Brethren". Keep in mind, however, that there were a number of different Witmer families all living in the same area. And the name "Catharine" was quite common. Source: Lanc Co. OC Records, Book 1791-1796, p. 105, dated 31 Dec 1792. Peter Witmer of Manor Township, brother of John Witmer, appointed Guardian over the estates of John's children Peter Anna, and Catharine, all minors under the age of 14. Good luck, Pam ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bobbie Welty" <blwelty@comcast.net> To: <PALANCAS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 17, 2006 4:39 PM Subject: Re: [PALANCAS] BARGE researcher > Would you have any idea about sisters of Barbara Witmer?
