    3. Hi Sue, The earliest church in Martic is Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church, founded in 1742. Chestnut Level in nearby Drumore was formed in 1717. You might also check the Conestoga Area Historical Society web page for the article on Martic Township from Ellis and Evans, "History of Lancaster County" (published 1883), as well as other items on Martic Twp. From Churches and Cemeteries of Lancaster Co, PA: Martic Twp, established 1729. only pre-1800 church/cemetery listed is: Muddy Run Presbyterian Cemetery; east of Susquehannock Drive, north of Rte 372; formerly Muddy Run Presbyterian Church, 1742-1909; also known as the Old Log Church. See "Register of Marriages and Baptisms of Rev. John Cuthbertson, Covenantor, 1751-1791" by S. Helen Fields, 1934, reprinted 1983. Located at Lanc Co Historical Society (LCHS) and Lanc Mennonite Historical Society (LMHS). No other church records are known to exist.
