Daniel Smith/Schmidt, son of Johannes and Catharine, was born on 22 Mar 1804 and baptized on 6 May 1804, according to the records of the Swamp Reformed Church in West Cocalico Twp. It appears that Daniel spent his entire life in Cocalico; the 1880 census shows Daniel, retired farmer, 75, and wife Anna, 65, in West Cocalico Twp.
