The Lancaster County Historical Society has a township map as well as a list of the townships and when they were formed, this for townships currently in Lancaster County.. (If you download the map and list make sure the list of townships are numbered, it looks like its easy to download the list but the numbers that help you identify the townships on the map don't download). http://lancasterhistory.org I've never see a list of the townships that went to other counties. I guess someone could construct such a list but looking at the townships in York County that were formed prior to 1749, the townships in Cumberland County that were formed prior to 1750, the townships of Berks County that were formed before 1752 and the townships of Lebanaon and Dauphin County formed before 1785 (the numbers are the years those counties were formed). I believe there were some townships formed that didn't continue after the new counties were formed, for example there was a Pequea Twp. in Chester County but when Lancaster County was formed, it disappeared. A second Pequea Twp. was formed later. Thanks. ==== PALANCAS Mailing List ==== When replying to the list change the subject line if you change the subject. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
