Hi, all! Anyone out there have any info on SWARTZ or BLACK families in Lancaster Co. during the late 1700's? My ancestor, Barbara SWARTZ (01 Apr 1796-01 Sep 1872) m. Christian HALDEMAN. They resided in Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co. I have been trying to find information on her parentage. My best guess is that her father was John SWARTZ, (alias BLACK) Junior (d. 1799), and that her grandfather was John BLACK, Senior, m. Maria, of Mountjoy Twp.. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Patty Haldeman Wise I have found the following tidbits: 1785 - Land record referring to Abraham BLACK and his wife Ann, John BLACK, Senior, and his wife, Maria, and John BLACK, Junior, and Mary BLACK, spinster - all of Mountjoy Twp.
