Marriage date unknown I already have John’s will from Berks Co. 23 pages long It lists my Samuel and Lydia and surviving children. I also found a Stafford will (one page) dated 1839 but it talks about a child (Polly) over 14 who needed guardian. Lists John Stafford as decd father. Do not believe this 1839 will for John Stafford is our line. James appears in the 1800 census under James Stafford Robeson, Berks Co, Pa Christina Stafford appears in the 1810 census Robeson, Berks Co. Pa I am assuming James died after 1800 and before 1810 I cannot find Christiana after the 1810 census. Son John (Johannes Staffert) born 1797 first appears in the 1840 census under John Staffert. I can trace the Staffert/Stafford family then forward all the way through my ancestors in Michigan. Meaning Samuel E. Stafford’s family. My questions are: Were is John (born 1797) before the 1840 census. Especially if mother Lydia died before the 1820 census. Or did Lydia remarry? Does anyone know anything about James Staffert and his wife Christiana Boehm, birth dates, places of birth, dates and places of death. Who were the ancestors of James and Christiana? Name apparently was Americanized to Stafford. Did James or Christiana leave a will? I did not see one for them in Berks Co. I found Joseph Staffert born 1801 living in Ohio in 1850 census with his family. Is Joseph the son of James and Christiana and the brother of John (Johannes) Any information on the Staffert/Stafford family for James and Christiana and their ancestors would be most appreciated. I'm still new to searching in PA so I might not know all the places yet This line is my moms side and dad German side I've already research, they all came to Michigan.
