I am searching for the parents of George Most. He stated that he was born in October of 1833 in Pennsylvania of parents born in Germany. I have searched the 1840 PA census several times and have isolated 4 families with male children between the ages of 6 to 9. However none of these families exist in the 1850 census. I understand the fact that no state records of births were kept at this time. Would tax or property records be of any value in this time frame? I shall now attempt to locate the baptismal records and thus need help locating Catholic Churches in or near Ephrata township in the 1830 - 1840 time frame. Any help would be appreciated.
