    1. Henry GABEL, Salisbury Twp.
    2. Hi Tom: I found 3 mentions of Henry GABEL in "A History of Salisbury Township Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania," 2002, by my friend Joan Lorenz. 1. In 1836 he was the Constable of the township 2. In 1821 he was noted as a blacksmith 3. In 1841 he purchased a property of 12 acres with a house from William & John GAULT - this property was evidently on WANNER Rd off of Cambridge Rd. Henry left the property to son Jacob in his will of 1849. Milton KOFFROTH and Jacob jointly sold the property to Agnes BLACK in 1867. Other GABELs in the book are Calvin, Esther, John, Arthur and David, if you're interested. I also have a KOFFROTH genealogy and will check in it for a relationship between Jacob and Milton. 3. Fred, Thank you for the info. I have "The History of Salisbury Township" and have also found mention of some of the Gable ladies, Christiana Diem wife of Adam Diem for one, she was one of Jacob's daughters. I think the 12 acre plot left to Jacob was separate from Henry's main farm that he had purchased from John Robinson in the early 1800's. I believe his son Israel ended up with that property. A couple of years ago a house close to Cambridge Rd. was pointed out to me as being Henry's house, I don't remember if it was on Wanner Rd. or not. I have a photo of it. I think it may have well been the house on Jacob's 12 acres and not the house that Henry was supposed to have built around 1810-1815. Would surely be interested in any thing you or anyone else comes across concerning the Gabel/Gables.
