John2 Shue (John1) was born October 28, 1795 in nr White Oak, Lancaster, PA, and died August 21, 1882 in Rapho Twp, Lancaster, PA. He married Mary Motter. She was born April 03, 1801 in Lancaster Co, PA, and died January 18, 1879 in Rapho Twp, Lancaster, PA. Notes for John Shue: 'Biographical Annals of Lancaster County', p 1206 "Ephraim Whitmeyer Shue, the very popular proprietor of the 'Kindig House,' on North Prince street, is descended from an old Pennsylvania family, his great-grandfather having been among the early settlers who came to America from Germany. The name of the grandfather also was John Shue, like that of the founder. He was born near White Oak, in this county, and married a Miss Motter, and their son, Jacob, became the father of Ephraim W. Shue. Jacob Shue engaged in farming in this county. He married Priscilla Witmer, a daughter of William Witmer, a farmer of the same section. However, Martha Kepford's death certificate gives her mother's name as "McGlassy". There was a McGlasley / Glassey family in Unionville (now Penryn), Penn Twp, Lancaster Co.
