Unfortunately, that erroneous data is still being perpetuated in other resources to which it was copied from the Website that originally published the erroneous data. I know we all share unproven genealogical data in an effort to be helpful to other researchers but please be very wary of doing this. We are constantly comparing our data with available records and making corrections. We also receive constant feedback from the Internet public. Now having said that the comparisons come at a slower rate than the input of unsubstantiated data. People just need to understand that data coming from LDS Ancestry File, Ancestry Worldtree, Rootsweb WorldConnect and the like needs to be looked at with suspicion until it can be verified against primary records.
