I am trying to locate the burial site of Jacob Stauffer, b. 1713, d. 1775 Donegal Twp, immigrated to America 1732, landed in Philadelphia. m. 1735 to Magdalena Hess, b.1717, d. 1784. Jacob had built a mill just north of Lititz (presently Zartman Mill), which he sold to his son Christian. Jacob then moved to Donegal Twp and I have located the old mill site that his son Abraham (wife Barbara Hershey) built on Donegal creek, on Trout Run Rd, off Musser Rd. The cemetery should be west of Musser Rd, to the north of the old mill site. I have found the cemetery listed in Rineer book, but I do not know who is buried at this site. Thanks Murray
Hi Murray, The STAUFFER name caught my attention as I have them in my line. I just grabbed a notebook and all the info I have in it pretty much stops at Christian STAUFFER. It does say his father was Jacob and mother was Magdalena HESS. Christian married Anna EBY. My info (I got it off the web at a GED com?? in Aug. 2001. So don't know how reliable it is.)states that Christian is buried at Zartman Farm Cemetery near Hammer Creek. Jacob is on the list of great-grandfathers but I'm not sure right now how many greats it is. I have no clue where the rest of my info on Jacob is as I haven't been doing very much genealogy in the past few years. Plus my sister helped me move rooms around and I can't find half of my notes and folders.:-( I'll keep this email handy and if I come across any info I'll pass it along. Hope this helps even a little, tracy --- mstauf <mstauf@comcast.net> wrote: > I am trying to locate the burial site of Jacob Stauffer, b. 1713, d. > 1775 Donegal Twp, immigrated to America 1732, landed in Philadelphia. m.1735 to Magdalena Hess, b.1717, d. 1784. > Jacob had built a mill just north of Lititz (presently Zartman Mill), > which he sold to his son Christian. Thanks Tracy, You have the right Jacob Stauffer. Christian buried at Hammer Creek was his Son. I have visited that site, which is overgrown and fenced. I appreciate any information we can share. Murray
