    2. I would be interested in where these can be found too. I have several names, including Martin Kendug/Kendig and Hans Graf that I am interested in. Thank you. 3. I would recommend the recently published book called "The Warrant Maps of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania: Including an Every-name Index" by Geri Gilbert printed in 2005 by Mastof Press containing 100 pages. I purchased my copy at the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society for $32. The book measures 11" X 17" and has a soft cover. It contains reduced images of the land warrant maps for each township in Lancaster County. I would suggest using it in conjunction with a reprint of "Bridgens' 1864 Atlas of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania" and a current ADC or DeLorm map of the county if you want to confirm the current location. The land warrants are referred to in the Lancaster County Deed Books found at the courthouse, but I believe you need to write to the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg in order to get copies of the warrants, surveys, and patents. This is where the new Warrant Maps book is so helpful. It gives the record numbers which are needed to request the copies. The text is very small in the book, so you may need a magnifying glass. The index of the Warrant book lists four entries for Martin Kindig, with his name appearing on the township warrant maps for Pequea, Providence, Strasburg, and West Lampeter. Some things to keep in mind are that one property may show up on more than one township map if it was located near the boundary. Another is that the township maps are for current day townships. Back when the warrants were applied for, the township may have had a different name. Maria

    3. Hi, Try this site from the Pennsylvania Archives. http://www.phmc.state.pa.us/bah/dam/rg/di/r17-88WarrantRegisters/LancasterPages/r17-88LancasterPageInterface.htm You can also find most of the land warrants in the Pa. Archives series of books. These are searchable at: http://demos.iarchives.com/anc_04//search.jsp;jsessionid=1173E6A3C4D093A5E5433409E325E3C6?toc=b6ssqujqas8 I tried sending this early and didn't receive it back, so I suspect it didn't go through. I'm sorry if this is a repeat. 1. Bohrer and Schuster and Schenkmayer Families
    2. SHIRLEY MOLLER
    3. Hello List, I just joined your list a couple of days ago and I'm glad to see it is an active one. My reason for joining is that I have ancestors my 5th Great Grandparents last name Bohrer and Schuster that may have been in Lancaster before 1755. After 1755 they moved to Frederick Co., MD. My Abraham Bohrer married Anna Maria Schuster and I have no date for this marriage, but they had a son John Peter Bohrer born c 1746 and he was possibly born in Lancaster. This same John Peter Bohrer married Mary/Maria Magdelena Schenkmayer/Schenkmeyer and other spellings of course. Mary/Maria Magdelena Schenkmayer maybe the dau or sister of Johannes Schenkmayer and his wife Mary. I know for a fact that Johannes and his family were in Lancaster, PA., as the births and baptisms of some of his children are found in: Pennsylvania German Church Records I, The First Reformed Church, Birth and Baptisms, Page 245 The Pennsylvania-German Society Births and Baptisms 1755 Mary Eliz. Shenkmayer, d. John and Mary Eliza.; b. Feb 9; bap Feb. 16. Pennsylvania German Church Records I, The First Reformed Church, Birth and Baptisms, Page 242 The Pennsylvania-German Society John Schenkmayer, s. John and Mary Eliz.; b Jul16; bap July 23, 1753 Pennsylvania German Church Records I, The First Reformed Church, Birth and Baptisms, Page 245 The Pennsylvania-German Society Births and Baptisms 1762 Susan Shenkmeyer, d. John and Mary Eliz.; b April 8; bap May 16. So could some kind soul please look thru their Lancaster, PA books, etc., and see if they have any other finding for a Bohrer, Schuster, Schenkmayer. The above info is all I have so you won't be doing double work if you find something on any of the above families. I would greatly appreciate any help. Shirley Middleton Moller
