    3. That Columbia Spy is cool. However, my John Skiles died 1827 and most of the children moved to Illinois or Indiana. Don't know about a couple of them. He had a son John that I have no locations for so he could have stayed there. There were many Skiles references but I do not know who they are. :-( Janean ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shirley J Kunkle" <kunklesj@yahoo.com> To: <PALANCAS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 22, 2006 1:48 PM Subject: Re: [PALANCAS] gencircles - lancasterhistory > I appreciated reading the postings about gencircles. > > Another, more valuable site that may be of interest: > > www.lancasterhistory.org > > When searching the Columbia Spy online, I found a sale > ad for an ancestor's property. > > Shirley > > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Tired of spam? 1. Westward movement

    3. Many of my ancestors moved to Indiana or Illinois also. I've read that some reasons people moved westward were to start a new church or to have access to land. Many of my Newcomer ancestors stayed in PA. Many moved westward. It seemed that many of the offspring named their children with the same first names. I've been mislead on my Newcomer branch, but I continually look back to family information or census records that I know for certain are my ancestors. Good luck, Shirley --- Janean Ray <JRay38@neo.rr.com> wrote: > That Columbia Spy is cool. However, my John Skiles > died 1827 and most of > the children moved to Illinois or Indiana.
