Her disease was Apoplexy. At 9 o'clock on Friday morning last her remains were interred in the family burying ground, in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends. The deceased was a young man deeply respected. His loss is one that his numerous friends will greatly deplore. STRICKLER.-Near Columbia, on the 4th inst., Mrs. Barbara STRICKLER, wife of Mr. Joseph STRICKLER. BAER.-On the 4th inst. at Elizabethtown, Dr. Reuben N. BAER, U. S. N. aged 23 years. Dr. BAER was rising rapidly in the estimation of the great and the good of his profession. After a few years' study he passed an honorable examination before the Board of Naval Examiners and became Surgeon of the U. S. Navy. He soon afterward became the assistant teacher of anatomy in Professor M'Clintock's Anatomical School at Philadelphia. The early and sudden decease of this excellent young man, claims, from one who knew and appreciated his mreits, an passing tribute to his memory.--Dr. MILLER was a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, and settled at Millerstown in 1836.....His remains were interred in the family cemetery, near Lampeter Square, on Sunday last. The name of this venerable and gallant officer is connected with some of the brightest achievements in the naval history of his country. To a bravery which has never been surpassed in the annals of the service to which he belonged, he united a modesty, a cheerfulness and a generosity of personal character that secured for him affection and respect wherever he was known. The star-spangled banner never waved over an officer more chivalrous or a citizen more estimable. Maybe I will "muddy the water,s a bit", but is is my "2 cents": When I saw the word,s <Salunga Archives> I thought of the "Library" that WAS in the Salunga area many year,s ago! It was a large colection of books etc. by one man in the small OldTrolley Station in a time long ago, but to my thinking, those archives may have been "moved" to the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society east of Lancaster City, PA along Rt, 30. If I am wrong, there should be one OR more person,s who can correct me! Also, THAT is where I would begin to research.
