    3. Hi Tim, I checked the Stacy Wood article on the Eberman's in the Journal of the Lancaster County Historical Society (Vol. 91 #3), "A John Eberman Legacy: Eight Lancaster, Pa. Clockmakers" and he shows Gotlieb's death in Lancaster, not Lititz. He cites as his source as the Lancaster Moravian Church Burial book, page 445. This suggests he was buried at the Moravian cemetery in Lancaster. There was a seperate register for Lititz. What caught my attention was the claim that he was buried at a Mennonite Cemetery in Lititz, are there any Mennonite cemeteries in Lititz, I doubt it. Its common for people not familiar with these religious groups to confuse the two sects. Jim Tim Robinson <trobinson42@comcast.net> wrote: Jim, Do this for me, as I found this Googling.......... Go to Google, and in the "search window", print in... gottlieb eberman clockmaker lancaster co pa ... and pick the 1st entry on the page.......it shows someone's family tree with GOTTLIEB included. I didn't see an e-mail address. 3. Dyanne, Thanks for the information. Once I knew where she fit, I was able to fit her in rather well. Frederick's given name was actually Jacob Frederick. He used Frederick most of the time because there were several Jacob Frederick's in the family. If you would like to know more about the Griel line to tie it in with the Rittenhouse's I would be happy to share with you. Interestingly enough, my uncle, James Griel married a Patricia Gehr who is the daughter of J Robert Gehr and Anna M Neff and a granddaughter of John A Gehr. It's interesting how surnames will sometimes repeat generations apart. Thanks again for your help! Lester Dymsy@aol.com wrote: Lester, Nathaniel was the son of John C. Rittenhouse and Leah Gehr. Margaret was one of his and his wife, Mariah Painter's children. Margaret (born March, 1873) was appointed guardian of the minor children after their deaths. Margaret married Frederick Griel in 1890 and they had one son that I know of, Frank born in April 1893. My notes show that Frederick, born in March 1859 was the son of Jacob Griel and Anna Conrad. Hope this helps. Dyanne PS It is nice to know that someone read my posting. 3. Bertram and Ann Scott Galbraith and three children Dorcas, Wm. B. and Esther are buried at Donegal Presbyterian in Lancaster co. I also have found two sons names James m. Rosetta Work and a Samuel. Are there others listed in the Galbraith book? Ann Scott was the daughter of Josiah and Mary Allen Scott who fits into Abraham Scott family on which I am working. This is my first posting on this list. Although I have about a dozen families who came from southeast PA, Germans, Scots-Irish, and Swedish, I am currently working on the early generations of Scotts, Descendants of Hugh and his son Abraham Scott who were among the signers of the Petition to form Lancaster co. in 1729. Actually the search is going well just enough records to work out some of the problems thanks to some good help on these lists. 3. Mike, Although PA-Roots hosts some of the Pennsylvania County sites, it is separate from the USGenWeb project. The USGenWeb Archives is a sister site and data storage area of the USGenWeb project, which is hosted by Rootsweb. While I suppose it would be convenient if everything was on one web site, that is unfortunately not the case. You are certainly free to post your data wherever you choose, just as everyone else is. 1. Henry GABEL, Salisbury Twp.
    2. Hi Tom: I found 3 mentions of Henry GABEL in "A History of Salisbury Township Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania," 2002, by my friend Joan Lorenz. 1. In 1836 he was the Constable of the township 2. In 1821 he was noted as a blacksmith 3. In 1841 he purchased a property of 12 acres with a house from William & John GAULT - this property was evidently on WANNER Rd off of Cambridge Rd. Henry left the property to son Jacob in his will of 1849. Milton KOFFROTH and Jacob jointly sold the property to Agnes BLACK in 1867. Other GABELs in the book are Calvin, Esther, John, Arthur and David, if you're interested. I also have a KOFFROTH genealogy and will check in it for a relationship between Jacob and Milton. Hopefully the following site will help in the search for the old map with the GABEL property: http://genealogy.lv/1864Lancaster/townships.htm If you click on the "Salisbury Top" map, wait for it to load, then float your mouse over the lower right hand corner you will see a box with arrows appear - click on that and the map will increase in size. Just south of the label for South Hermitage P.O. you will see a few GABELs. 3. Fred, Thank you for the info. I have "The History of Salisbury Township" and have also found mention of some of the Gable ladies, Christiana Diem wife of Adam Diem for one, she was one of Jacob's daughters. I think the 12 acre plot left to Jacob was separate from Henry's main farm that he had purchased from John Robinson in the early 1800's. I believe his son Israel ended up with that property. A couple of years ago a house close to Cambridge Rd. was pointed out to me as being Henry's house, I don't remember if it was on Wanner Rd. or not. I have a photo of it. I think it may have well been the house on Jacob's 12 acres and not the house that Henry was supposed to have built around 1810-1815. Would surely be interested in any thing you or anyone else comes across concerning the Gabel/Gables.
