    1. DECKER Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Philip DECKER and his wife which was taken at the Hubley Studio in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with the couple appearing to be in their 20's or 30's at the time. Based on limited research I believe that this may be the same Philip DECKER who was living with the WIRTH Family in West Lampeter, PA during the 1880 census. Records indicated the following: Paul WIRTH, age 81, born in Germany, a Farmer Maria WIRTH, wife, age 78, born in Germany Anna WIRTH, dau, age 38, born in PA Philip DECKER, age 20, born in PA, A Farm Laborer In the 1900 census of Strasburg, PA I find Philip DECKER and his family with records indicating the following: Philip DECKER, age 44, born Mar 1856, married 14 years, born in PA to German born parents, a Farmer Harret E. DECKER, wife, age 43, born July 1856, married 14 years, 5 children/4 living, born in PA to PA born parents Ralph M. DECKER, son, age 13, born Nov 1886, born in PA, at school Mabel DECKER, dau, age 11, born Mar 1889, born in PA, at school Edna DECKER, dau, age 8, born Nov 1891, born in PA, at school Anna B. DECKER, dau, age 1, born Nov 1898, born in PA In the 1910 census of Strasburg, PA the family remains with records indicating the following: Philip DECKER, age 54, married 24 years, born in PA to German born parents, a General Farmer Harriet DECKER, wife, age 53, married 24 years, 5 children/4 living, born in PA to PA born parents Ralph DECKER, son, age 23, born in PA, Laborer Mabel DECKER, dau, age 21, born in PA, Shirt factory seamstress Edna DECKER, dau, age 18, born in PA, telephone exchange office Anna DECKER, dau, age 11, born in PA In addition to this photograph I've also recovered photographs belonging to the MCCLEARY, BURKHOLDER, KREIDER, WEAVER, STOUTZENBERGER, and ECKMAN Families, all from the same source. I am not sure of what the connections might be, however, the handwritten notations on all the photographs were made by the same person so I'm sure they are connected in some manner. I am hoping to locate someone from this DECKER Family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Sallie STOUTZENBERGER which was taken at the A. M. Lease Studio in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's or early 1900's with Sallie likely about 10-15 years old at the time. In addition to this photograph I also obtained photographs from the same source which belong to the KREIDER, BURKHOLDER, DECKER, WEAVER, MCCLEARY, and ECKMAN Families. I've no idea how they are all connected, but I do know that the handwritten notations on all the photographs was made by the same person. I'm hoping to see the photograph returned to Sallie's family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    3. I have this connection between an Ann Scott and a John S. Reed. Who this Anne was has had me puzzled for a long time. She was speculating in land in Benton county Iowa in the 1850s through a lawyer. All her land was in the township near my ancestor Abraham Scott born in Washington co. Pa. in 1805. Abraham was the grandson of Abraham Scott d. 1749 in Chester co. who was a brother of the early Lancaster co. Donegal twp. Scotts: Samuel, Josiah and Alexander. Anna H. Scott (of Harrison Co. 3. The only sources for birth information during this time would be to check church records. Do you know where in Lancaster County the Reeds lived ? If not then check the 1820 census index to see what townships in Lancaster County had Reeds in it. If you can identify a township then check with the list for what churches existed in that township. If you know what religion your Reeds were that would help as well. Its difficult to do genealogical research using just Lancaster County, its always better to narrow your search as much as possible. 1. Family of Jacob Walter (ca 1718-1798) of Rapho Twp
    2. Pam Pearson
    3. Family of Jacob Walter (ca 1718-1798) of Rapho Twp. Jacob Walter first appears in the 1756 Rapho Twp tax records. Known children include: Andrew; Margaret; Magdalena, married [-?-] Springer; Peter (1757-1818); Baltzer (1758-1841); Barbara; Jacob Jr. (1767), married Ann (possibly Stouffer); Dorothea. I would like to correspond with anyone who has come across this Mennonite family in their research. I descend from Peter Walter (1757-1818), and I would like to know more about his siblings and their famlies.
