    2. Edward Herron
    3. excerpts from an obituary in the "Western Christian Adovocate", Sept. 19, 1834: John Herran, the subject of the following notice, was a man of piety and deep devotion to God, who finished his earthly course in Clermont County, Ohio, in the 73rd year of his age, in full hope of a blissful immortality beyond the grave. ... The following I received from his widow and children, in a note requesting me to attend the funeral, viz: "His parents were strict Presbyterians, and he became a member of that church about the 20th year of his age; and yet, not withstanding he was a Presbyterian in the 28th year of his age, he embraced religion and united with the European Wesleyan Methodists also, and continued a member of their society until he embarked for the United States of America, which was about his 33rd year. After his arrival in this country he joined the Methodist Episcopal church, in which he ever after continued a member, firmly believing the doctrines of the gospel, and a life truly devoted to his Creator. He was among the first Methodists in Lancaster County, PA.. where he had charge of a class 15 years, and often preached in his own house, until he emigrated to Ohio. ... it pleased his heavenly Father, on the 19th of July, 1833 to call him home to glory. ...

    1. WEAVER Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Ross & Mary WEAVER which was taken at the Rote Studio in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with the two children appearing to be about 4 - 7 years old at the time. Based on limited research I believe that this may be a photograph of Ross Kreider WEAVER b. after 1878 and his sister Mary WEAVER, children of Jacob G. WEAVER and Lizzie SHULTZ. I believe that this may be the same WEAVER Family who was living in Strasburg, PA during the 1880 census with records providing the following information: Elam WEAVER, age 39, born in PA, a Farmer, parents born in PA Elizabeth WEAVER, wife, age 29, born in PA, Keeping House, parents born in Germany/PA Jennie WEAVER, dau, age 9, born in PA Ida WEAVER, dau, age 6, born in PA John WEAVER, son, age 5, born in PA Harry WEAVER, son, age 4, born in PA Mary WEAVER, dau, age 2, born in PA Ross WEAVER, son, age 1, born in PA Hiram HAMMON, other, age 21 In the 1910 census of Strasburg, PA I find evidence of Ross E. WEAVER with records providing the following information: Ross E. WEAVER, age 31, married 9 years, born in PA, parents born in PA, a Blacksmith Bertha M. WEAVER, wife, age 27, married 9 years, born in PA, parents born in PA In the 1920 census of West Earl, PA I was able to find record of Ross and Mary's Mother, info is as follows: Weaver ZIMMERMAN, age 25, born in PA, parents born in PA, a Farmer Lizzie ZIMMERMAN, wife, age 22, born in PA, parents born in PA Lydia ZIMMERMAN, dau, age 1 year + 3 months, born in PA Moses ZIMMERMAN, son, age 6 months, born in PA Elizabeth WEAVER, Grandmother, age 69, born in PA, parents born in PA Anna C. MARTIN, servant, age 13, born in PA, parents born in PA In addition to this photograph I also recovered photographs belonging to the BURKHOLDER, KREIDER, STOUTZENBERGER, DECKER, MCCLEARY, and ECKMAN Families from the same source. I've no idea how they may all be connected, however, the handwritten notations on all the photographs were made by the same person so I'm certain there is some connection. I'm hoping to locate someone from this WEAVER Family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    3. Does anyone have any information D. W. BARR, son of John Barr and Barbara Keeports. He was a young man in 1866 when he wrote to his Uncle Abraham Barr in Indiana. He was married about 1862 to a Miss Marshall. He was a clerk in a store previously owned by Mr. Aument. I believe his name is Daniel, possibly Daniel William or even Daniel M. Barr. Any information appreciated. Susan
