This may not help you any, but I thought I'd pass along since there's an Andrew Swift in the mix. He's obviously older, but may be a relation. I received the following info from a fellow genealogist. jho James Swift and Barbara immigrated in Jan of 1854 with an infant son Thoma, coming through NY. Barbara continues to show up in both the census and city directories as late as 1887 at 918 Wyoming in Scranton. Swift family tombstone at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Dunmore, PA. "James Swift a native of the Parish of Coomel Co. Mayo Ireland departed this life Mar 24, 1874 42 years of age" Beneath this : "Thomas died April (?) 1854 Dominick died Feb 11 1863 John died Feb 12, 1863 Patrick died Aug. 3, 1863 Catherine died May 16, 1864 Andrew died July 1, 1872 Michael died Sept 2, 1872" The final inscription "Children of James and Barbara Swift" ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sandy Doyle" <sddoyle@frontiernet.net> To: <palackaw@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 01, 2008 10:43 PM Subject: [PALACKAW] Swift/Masters/Cominita/Carminita of Scranton >I am looking for the Swifts from Scranton Pa, Andrew Swift married > Helena Masters of Scranton Pa abt 1919, they adopted my Dad 1921 Thomas > Cominita/Carminita.
