    3. If you are looking for the civil records for a person who died or was born in Lackawanna county, that request would have to go the State's Bureau of Vital Records, for anyone who was born or died after 1905. If you are looking for birth or death registrations from 1893 to the end of 1905 (except for Scranton or Carbondale city), delayed birth registrations made after 1940 for those born before 1906, wills and estate dockets, or marriages after Oct. 1, 1885; those requests should go to the county. Some of these documents have been made available through LDS mircofilm, such as marriages 1915 - 1950, Scranton Board of Health births and deaths, 1878 - 1905, County registrations of births and deaths, 1893-1905; church records, etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ken Forgione" <kforgione@hvc.rr.com> To: <palackaw@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 24, 2008 6:31 PM Subject: [PALACKAW] birth and death records : i am wondering if a person was either born or died or both with in lackawanna county would i still have to write to the state to get their documents or could i find them somewhere within the county like the local LDS. : : ------------------------------- : To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PALACKAW-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message :
