    1. [PALACKAW] TEEVAN
    2. Dear Listers I need some help on where to look for information on two of my great Uncles: James & Constantine Teevan. In 1870 my ggrandparents (James & Elizabeth Teevan) immigrated to the US and settled in Dumore. On the 1880 Dunmore census, ED 29, page 21 shows the parents with their children Patrick age 18, James age 16, Elizabeth 13; Henry 11; Constantine 9 and Maggie 4. By the 1900 Dunmore census (ED 24, pg 5 Ward 4), shows the parents living with three of the unmarried adult offspring (Elizabeth, Henry & Maggie). At the top of that page, and two houses away is another James with a wife and child (I presume that this might be the son), but it is hard to see the last name since there is writting over the last name. The age and place of birth fits young James. The only other information I have on young James is a newspaper account of a mine accident on 4/27/1889, where he suffered a fractured skull. When James the father died on 2/4/1908, the obit did not list young James & Constantine as survivors. I have death certificates on everyone except the sons James & Constantine. It seems as if Constantine never existed after the 1880 census. No one in the family knew anything about Constantine. I do know he was named after his maternal grandfather Constantine McKeon from Ireland. Looking forward to an opening in this brick wall. Verna **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight?
