    1. [PALACKAW] QUESTION ON PROPERTY RECORDS

    3. Hi Everyone, My g-grandparents, Joseph and Catherine Clapp ran a grocery store at 1206 Jackson Street. The Jackson St. Baptist Church is now on this site. I don't know if my g-grandparents owned the property or rented. Since I live in Tennessee and can't get to the property records, is there anyone or group who can check on the property records to see who the church bought the property from. I know the store was there in 1896 and I think they were there in 1900. When my g-grandmother passed away in 1914, the church was there as they held a funeral service for her at the church. I need to know who owned the property from 1896 - to whenever the church purchased the property. Several years ago I wrote to the church but never received a reply. Depending on the results, I will know whether or not to check for a will for my g-grandfather and/or g-grandmother. I do remember my grandmother mentioning some family problems and the deposition of the estate could have been the basis. Any help received is appreciated. Regards, Lynn Eivers

    2. Seems like you should be able to write to the tax assessor's office to get a property title report.? There's probably a fee.? Check the web for information, Lackawanna County.
