What you need is a lookup in the LDS film " Records of the Board of Health, City of Scranton - Deaths, 1878-1905" which is available through the LDS, and is in the collection at the Scranton Public Library. I do not have access to this film at this time, but there should be listers out there who might be able to assist. Where she lived in Scranton would determine the cemetery in which she is most likely buried. I do not list her in the data collected (so far) for Washburn Street, where the plurality of Welsh are buried. If she wasn't Catholic, and did not live in Hyde Park (wards 4, 5, 14,15), then she could be in Forest Hills or Dunmore if she lived in Providence (wards 1, 2, 3) or Green Ridge (ward13). If she was in Lackawanna Twp., then I would check out Forest Home cemetery, Taylor. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roger Davies" <roger.davies55@virgin.net> To: <PALACKAW@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 06, 2008 9:54 AM Subject: [PALACKAW] Scranton deaths c 1880 : I have just discovered my ggg grandmother Elizabeth Thomas living in Scranton in the 1880 census, age 59, widowed at home. She had been consistently understating her age by 10 or more years since her arrival in the US in 1867 - she was actually born in Wales in 1810. : : She must have died fairly soon after 1880, given her real age. I am in England, so a visit to Scranton Library is probably not on the cards! Is there anyone on the list who visits the library and would be prepared to have a look at their death index to see if her death is recorded there please? : : I would be most grateful, and happy to reciprocate with any UK census or BMD lookups for the list. : : Thanks : : Roger : : ------------------------------- : To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PALACKAW-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message :
Would anyone have this film? Could you please also look for Rosaltha (Sisco) Croop? She was alive in 1900 - gone in 1910. According to the family, she died of TB. I have been unable to locate a date of death. Thank you ever much. On Apr 6, 2008, at 4:27 PM, Richard M.
