Hi I am trying to find any info on my husbands family.  I have some but what i would really like to know is what his GG Grandmothers maiden name was.  Her name is Laura and was married to John Griffiths.  She was born around July 1848 in Wales.  Her husband was born in 1839 in Wales I also have a marriage date in 1869 in PA but not really sure what county.  I do know that they settled in the Scranton area and are buried in the Dunmore cemetery.  They have 8 children Hugh b. 1870 in wales, Kate A b. 1872 NY, John Josephus (Jasphus) b. abt 1872 NY,  Richard b.1873 NY, William b.1874 NY, Laura b. 1876 NY, Mary b. 1877 PA, and Evan b. 1880 PA.   I also believe that they arrived in NY between the dates of 1870-1872 but i am not sure how to locate those records.    I live in TN and its hard for me to do the research that I need to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance. Since most of the children probably married before 1914, it is not likely to find the mother's maiden name from the marriage license application. If you have a death date for John Josephus Griffiths from Dunmore cemetery, you should be able to obtain her name from his death certificate. It could also be in his obit.
