Starting this week I will be posting more articles from the Scranton Republican. This time starting from July 5, 1889. I don't know if I will transcribe two weeks, or only one; it will depend on how busy I get before returning the roll of microfilm to the State Library at the end of next week. This series will have a bit more 'flavor' than previous postings. I couldn't resist transcribing some of the colorful character that was prevalent in writings of that day. However be advised that some of the content will be "darker" and more somber as well.
