Among some family things, I found an article in the Scranton Times - April 1, 1932 regarding the 17th annual banquet of the Daughters of America ( not to be confused with the Daughters of the American Revolution) at the Hotel Holland on May 31, 1932. According to the article, "about 100 attended representing councils from all parts of northeastern PA. The speaker declared that the Daughter of America is an organization wHich need not fear the future, having stood the test of the years." Attorney HAROLD SCRAGG spoke on "Loyalty". T.A GERBIG presented MRS. BEULAH FERREY who acted as toastmaster for the evening. The invocation was by MR. ELIZABETH WARNKE, member of the state auditing committee. MRS. TREVOR WILLIAMS was the accompanist. Solos were rendered by MISS JEANNE MADDEN AND HARRY MADDEN. SAMUEL BEVAN acted as song leader. Gifts were presented to MRS. EMMA GERBIG, MRS. JENNIE GARBETT of Nanticoke, MRS. GLADY HERMAN of Honesdale, MRS. MARY BROWN of East Stroudsburg, T. A. GERBIG, and MRS. ESTELLA JOHNSON of Minersville. Other honor guests present were: MRS.
