    3. Walt You can try looking for the widow in the 1890 Special Census. In this census they recorded the names of Civil War Vets and their widows and children. If his wife knew the regiment and company to which he belonged, it would be listed in that census. I know they have the census on microfilm at the PA State Archives, but I don't think it has an index. I don't remember for sure, but I think I had to read through a few pages of Scranton names before I found my ancestor. Good luck!
