Hello: I'm still looking for information on David JAMES who died in the 1869 Avondale Mine Disaster. According to the newspaper account of the accident, he left a wife and child (names not known to me or listed in the newspaper). Persons throughout the USA made contributions to an account for the widows and children. A committee was formed to distribute these funds. (1) I'm hoping to find a record of the persons (wives and children) who received monies from these charitable funds. (2) Also, I have been unable to learn where David JAMES is buried.
